"Nerfed" Weapons
The weapons in Destiny will be rebalanced before the launch of "The Taken King," the next game expansion launching in September. Some weapons will be made stronger whereas others will be "nerfed," or made weaker.
Gjallarhorn, the exotic rocket launcher will be nerfed. Forbes explains that Bungie is also weakening the Icebreaker, Thorn, Blackhammer, The Last Word and Hawkmoon.
Bungie has implemented this strategy before: When the player finds an advantage in the game they remove it. Destiny explains that Thorn started as a weapon that players thought was unworthy yet it is now one of the most popular exotics in the game.
