Why I created the site
I started AUNDRZ.com to help children who cannot afford computers, are not skilled enough to use computers and/or have no access to the Internet.
The site was named after my son, Andre, 'Aundrz' is my nickname for him.
Half of the money that the site generates through advertisements is donated to Estella's Brilliant Bus to help bridge the digital gap.
I have two children and I am dedicated to ensuring that they have access to computers and the Internet. In the county that I live in, Prince George's County , Maryland, not everyone is able to afford to buy computers or access to the web so they can take advantage of the benefits that information and communications technology systems can provide.
I grew up in Prince George's County and attended the county's public schools until middle school. My parents sent me to a private high school where I noticed numerous differences. All of a sudden I had access to a variety of technology and as a result I was able to succeed in college and obtain a good job.
Many of my classmates that stayed in Prince George's County were not as fortunate and although things have changed since then there is still a digital divide that we must close before it is too late.
