The Razer OSVR and the Oculus Rift at CES 2015

Oculus Rift
The Oculus Rift is a virtual reality headset developed by Oculus VR.  The device offers a wide range of view, a high-resolution display and extremely-low latency head tracking.  The Rift is yet to get a release date but the CEO of the company recently hinted that the device will certainly release in 2015.

Razer OSVR
In response to the Oculus Rift, the gaming tech firm, Razer, unveiled the OSVR headset at CES 2015.  The headset is an open-source device kit that can be used with all virtual reality devices including the Oculus DK 2.  The Rift is equipped with two 5.5 inch displays, a 100 degree field of view and internal sensors for head tracking.

Razer is releasing every available detail of the company's virtual reality headset, as well as the software that enables it to work as an open source, in order to allow developers to create their own versions.

VR On Speed
Razer hopes to make VR a reality as quickly as possible through this release.  The company also announced that 'Hacker Dev Kit's' will be released.   That is right, a hackable headset!
