Nest Labs introduced a $200 DIY home-monitoring camera last month.  The company acquired Dropcam last year therefore the announcement was no surprise. Nest added 1080p HD streaming as well as more effective nighttime video capture to Dropcam's previous creation.  Nest Labs was acquired by Google last year for $555 million. The internet-connected camera can be placed anywhere and used for anything from a baby monitor and pet spy to a home security service you could access at any time.

It has been five years since God of War III released on the Playstation 3.   According to the Daily News , the game has managed to retain all of its luster and fun, successfully making the transition to a new console. The first two God of War games launched on the Playstation 2 and the franchise is continuing to impress.

Suicide Squad: Comic-Con Suicide Squad - Comic-Con First Look [HD] David Ayer's SUICIDE SQUAD is in theaters August 5, 2016. Apple El Capitan According to CNET , Mac users eager to use the new version of their operating system, OS X El Capitan are now able to download the public deta for free . El Capitan will release later this year.  The current version may have some problems since it is the beta version.

Satoru Iwata has passed away at age 55.  Iwata missed E3 this year due to his poor health conditions. Nintendo published the following  statement  regarding the death of Iwata: The statement reads: Nintendo Co., Ltd. deeply regrets to announce that President Satoru Iwata passed away on July 11, 2015 due to a bile duct growth.

An Italian software company that specializes in hacking has been hacked.

On Friday, a angry crowd of people shouted at Ellen Pao demanding that she resign as chief executive of the social media site Reddit. Ms. Pao has received a substantial amount of criticism since she took over the site last year.  Ellen Pao stepped down as Reddit's CEO and Steve Huffman, Reddit co-founder and its original CEO, is taking over immediately.

Amazon added a high-resolution 300ppi (pixels per inch) display to the new Kindle Paperwhite yet there are no major changes to the overall look of the device. The previous Paperwhite offered a 212ppi screen.  The display will not be able to handle a variety of media as it is still monochrome. The new Kindle is priced at $120 with ads or $140 without ads. Telltale Games absolutely dominated the opening day of Minecon.  The company released its first trailer for the company's episodic Minecraft-based narrative adventure series, Minecraft, Story Mode. Players will control Jesse (comedian Patton Oswalt) a man who must find the legendary adventurers, the Order of the Stone because terror is unleashed. Jesse and his adventurers slayed Ender Dragon, the famous boss in the original game. Minecraft: Story Mode will be offered in the form of PC, PS3, Xbox 360, PS4, Xbox One, iOS and Android.

Leica Q The Leica Q (Typ 116) will run you $4250.  It is equipped with a fixed 28 mm wide-angle lens and full frame image.  The Q is a bit larger than other fixed-lens cameras. Renée James, President of Intel, is leaving the company.  Named Intel's president in 2013, James will remain with the company through 2015. James worked with Intel for over 25 years and is the highest-ranking woman at the company.   James has announced that she will be leaving in order to accept an external C.E.O. role. Who would have thought a photo-editing app would receive any glory in 2015? When you are Polarr, you receive the recognition you deserve.  Polarr is a very popular online photo-editing website that recently launched its mobile application and it is amazing. The app allows you to make your own filters as well as use Tone Curves and HSL channels.

Apple has removed games featuring the Confederate flag from the App Store.  Several American Civil War strategy games were removed from iPhones. The apps that were removed depict the flag in an offensive and mean spirited way.  Some of the apps that were removed include Ultimate General: Gettysburg and Civil War: 1863.

In the county that I live in, Prince George's County, Maryland, not everyone is able to afford to buy computers or access to the Internet so they can take advantage of the benefits that information and communications technology can provide. I started the site to help children who cannot afford computers, are not skilled enough to use computers and/or have no access to the Internet. Half of the money that the site generates through advertisements is donated to  Estella's Brilliant Bus  to help bridge the digital gap.

Reddit is on lock down.  Moderators have shut down about 300 subreddits. Subreddits are being shut down to protest the termination of Victoria Taylor, the site's director of talent. Xiamoi has been operating for about 5 years now and is very popular in China.  The company recently released the Mi 4i in order to expand to India. Xiaomi has open sourced the kernel source for the Xiaomi Mi 4i, meaning users can have more fun.  They will now be able to develop kernels to go with those customer ROMs or to go with the stock MUI experience.
