Everyone loves their Dropcam. Except this kid.

Nest Labs introduced a $200 DIY home-monitoring camera last month.  The company acquired Dropcam last year therefore the announcement was no surprise.

Nest added 1080p HD streaming as well as more effective nighttime video capture to Dropcam's previous creation.  Nest Labs was acquired by Google last year for $555 million.

The internet-connected camera can be placed anywhere and used for anything from a baby monitor and pet spy to a home security service you could access at any time.
