Daniel Radcliffe GTA Movie BBC Gamechangers
Daniel Radcliffe, GTA Movie BBC: Gamechangers, is the story of Sam and Dan Houser, founders of Rockstar Games and the brothers responsible for some of the most violent video games of all time.  The Grand Theft Auto movie trailer is out despite Rockstar's attempt to shut it down in order to protect the company's intellectual property.

BBC released a trailer for its upcoming Grand Theft Auto movie based on Sam and Dan Houser's company, Rockstar.  The trailer show Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter) playing Sam Houser, GTA's co-creator while Bill Paxton (Apollo 13) plays Jack Thompson, an U.S. attorney who launched a campaign against GTA.

Thompson's crusade against violent video games lasted until he was disbarred in 2008.  Given that the battles between Thompson and Rockstar Games really heated up prior to the release of Grand Theft Auto IV: San Andreas in 2004, the drama will most likely focus on that time period.

In May, Rockstar Games, via its parent company Take-Two Interactive launched an action against BBC in London for trademark infringement in relation to Gamechangers.  In a statement to IGN Rockstar Games states:

"While holders of the trademarks referenced in the film title and its promotion, Rockstar Games has had no involvement with this project.  Our goal is to ensure that our trademarks are not misused in the BBC's pursuit of an unofficial depiction of purported events related to Rockstar Games.  We have attempted multiple times to resolve this matter with the BBC without any meaningful resolution. It is our obligation to protect our intellectual property and unfortunately in this case litigation was necessary.”

The trailer has made its way to the web despite Rockstar's attempt to bury the drama before it begins.  In response to Rockstar's comments BBC explained, "We do not comment on legal matters." Gamechangers is set to premier on September 15, on BBC Two.
